These requirements is for unrestricted licenses (to be an attending), correct? So a SMU grad without green electives can still do a Nevada or Texas residency?

I haven't looked into doing residency in either of the states. I've been more focused on licensinng aspects.

If anyone else knows about cores, electives or residency requirements for the more particular states, please reply!

TX Green Electives by Specialty...

According to the forms available on the medical board site, TX requires all clinical cores and any electives to be "green" by specialty, if it is completed within the minimum 130 weeks of medical education. After the 130 week minimum, electives do not have to be green (page one of Form J)

To me, 130 weeks (2.5 years) must be including basic science because no one does a minimum 2.5 years of clinicals... and on the last page of the form it goes on to describe specific basic science classes that are also required (neuroscience, biochem, etc). I have tried to email the board for clarification, but no reply.

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments and the form. Looks like an alternative to jumping through all the hoops is to get board certified.

Please post what you find out from the state board when you hear from them.

If anyone else has taken the time to research other states' requirements, please post your findings. This is great stuff and a huge benefit to many others.

Thanks, All!

I wish I had more to report but I've not had any feedback other than that above.

If you or anyone else hears of any Greenbook requirements from a particular state, we'd all love to know!

Thanks for asking, though.
