Think quality, not quantity. I would say give yourself a few months to let the experience really settle. The best situation is if you can get on at a mixed-practice animal hospital.

Good luck!

?

I was wondering, would someone be precluded from admission to the vet school on the basis of something like say, a fear of dogs?

Interested in new vet school and had some questions??

Hello,

I am very interested in applying to your vet school for the spring semester. I have all the requirements and over 8 1/2 years of small, large and research experience, but lack in my GPA. I currently have a 2.8 GPA which has hurt me in my appying process. I am very dedicated in going to veterinary school, I have had plenty of experience and know that I would like to become a vet one day. Please let me know if I sound like a good canidate for St. Matthews. What is the typical GRE score that you would like to see?

Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope I can be part of St. Matthews as well.

Sincerely,

Ryan

Hey vetguy,

I'm a second semester student in the M.D. program here. I don't think any of the vet students post here which is why I'm responding. Understand that this is a really young program that is trying to grow. If you have good clinical experience with animals and have good intentions you can express towards attending vet school, I think you have a much better than average chance. I can't say for sure what kind of test scores they're looking for her, contact the school directly for that info. Hope this helps..best of luck.
