hey

i totally disagree. I like the idea, and as far as starting 3rd or 4th semester, thats rediculous. USMLE prep starts DAY ONE. If you want to just pass them, then by all means go ahead and start then, but if you want a decent grade, you cant wait that long.

How about this.. in order to really prepare you for step I.. you just don't have any exams throughout the semester and just have one big cumulative final at the end of the semester that determines your grade. That would be even more like step I, right?

Great Response to those who have never experienced the frustration of preparing for 4 exams in one day. So yeah, if they want the USMLE experience, thats the only way.

Since all of our exams aren't on Monday it can't be considered "Black Monday". From the schedule that I got (and it was posted) it appears that our exams are on both Monday and Tuesday for each semester. I personally don't feel that it's to hard of a thing to do. It's actually nothing different than what we all did in undergrad or graduate school. I agree that there is alot more material coverd in medical school in a short period of time but it's what we all signed up for. I think having the exams on Monday and Tuesday is a great idea. If forces you to learn the material throughout the semester and NOT just cram at the end which is what we should be doing anyway. As for step 1 preperation that's what we have the shelfs for. I don't see our test schedule in anyway trying to enhance or add to that step 1 preperation. Unless of course the schedule I received is wrong and they are all on Monday.
