How is the final for psych, I know it's worth 40%. Is it harder then the first 3 exams, is it mostly new stuff or 50/50. Any input would be great.
PS. Dr.H makes psych harder then it needs to be, lots of neuro and worthless info and very little actual psych and ethics when compaired to everything else he lectures. ![]() |

Its not harder than it needs to be.... lots of the material and correlations come back in later settings. Also a lot of the stuff that is said is not tested. It may seem like a lot of info at the time, but take for example all the Dopamine receptors and where they are found... you actually need that info for pharm. The final is tough but it is comparable in difficulty to the level of the previous exams.

ok all the suckers listen up i wont wana see anything from anyone who seems to be sucking up to heller, he has made psych hell, he cant even stick to wat he says, every exam is accumilitive exam even wen he says that only final is accumilitive plus check this out "there were some questions on 3rd exam that could have had multiple answers but i'm not gona give you the points because avg was 79 which is highest in history so you guys dont need any more points" and thats what heller said today in psych lec. if he tests us on what he teaches us i dont have a problem with him but he doesnt even know how to put up a nice lec using power point where he explains things, he expects us to lear stuff from ... anyways GOOD JOB heller!!

Well I have to agree that when it comes to exams they are not what the should be, in part they are harder because they have lots of typos and forget asking him, he will get mad if more then 7 people ask him something. I must agree with nick about the cumulative parts, first day he said no cumulative till the final. So far every exam had things from prior exams and lots of neuro stuff that you can NOT find in the notes but yet he asks it anyway. Dr.He$$er knows his stuff but he must understand this is NOT neuro all over again this is psych. Today we started to learn about ethics, a week before classes end. I don't have a problem with neuro as long as his powerpoints have more then a picture without words.

Stop taking half-*** ways of studying for it and you'll be alright. His powerpoints weren't the greatest (too detailed if you ask me), but if you studied them and an additional resource and did practice questions (like you should do in ALL med school courses) then you'll do well on the exams. If you do it that way, rather than keep looking for short cuts, it wont matter if an exam is cummulative or whatever, you'd do well on it and eventually stop complaining. PS: I posted pretty much the exact same post 4 months ago when you first started it. Put your time in, do the work, and you'll have nothing to complain about 4 months later.
