Thread: SMU fundraiser

Guys-

I was thinking of making a fundraiser to help the needy. We can donate food, clothes etc. I may hold a bowling or tennis tournament. Is anyone interested? Do you guys think its a good idea?

I would say donate the clothes for sure. Don't donate food unless you have it sitting on the shelf wasting away. Why I say this is you should give money in place of food, the money than can be leveraged by various food banks, the red cross and salvation army by as much as 10x by these organizations. I have some experience working with some food shelters and this is the best way to contribute. But with that said, you are undertaking a noble cause and you efforts will be greatly appreciated.
