The Yale vs Yale "affiliated" situation makes sense to me. Here is a newbie question. I was udner the impression that if you trained at a "Yale affiliated" hospital, your residency training certificate is issued from Yale. Am I correct on this? Please advise.

however everyone is really getting bent out of shape for nothing. I dont think there is anything deliberately misleading going on here. its an education thing. guys, find something more serious to get riled up about and let those who can find out the details of this make-or-break topic.

lol not much of a make or break topic.. more silly than anything else... SMU wont be any less of a school if its yale affiliated or yale proper.. dont really make a difference what the answer is.. but i guess it is important for ppl out their to recognize that there is a difference.. just for their own sake when they are looking at programs and evaluating em for their own match..

Just like SMU's Harvard Affiliation
Guys,
If we play odds, the "Yale" that we're talking about is more likely an SMU student at a Yale-affiliated hospital (pretty much every hospital in CT is) as swimguy said. Just how some people hyped up an SMU-Harvard connection.... when in actuality it wasnt a connection that SMU had EARNED, it was just SMU working with Harvard INTERNATIONAL (which Harvard International does business with sooo many schools and companies). I think that possibly some students got the wrong idea and just heard the words "Yale" and "SMU student" and put some pieces together that most likely are not what they were thinking. It was probably by accident as they didnt know any better. |
