Quit picking on Sbturner he simply is infatuated with the school.
Now back to the thread- Dr. P made no mention of the SMU grad going to a YALE affiliated hospital rather stated that the girl was "doing her residency IN YALE" Why we need to get into an argument about this I dont know. Take it as stated. The SMU GRAD IS DOING HER RESIDENCY AT YALE ! This certainly speaks volumes about SMU and their preperation of their students |

I have no problems with pride in your school (especially if its earned pride rather than "morning in america" sort of pride). I only think it is important that folks make themselves aware of the intricacies out there, for themsevles, for their school, and also so they dont wind up looking like dupes if someone manages to pull the rug out from under their celebration. As for me, I hope truely that your person has ensnared themselves a top residency.

1) I wasn't accusing anyone of anything. I only urged some students to clarify, and mostly for themselves. 2) actually Mt sinai, my ols stoping grounds, does have sgu grads. 3) sgu, for all of its folly (and i know more than most thanks very much) does in earnest try to be accurate of the residency placement list. they in fact tend to *underestimate* the more prestigous places because they get where the students are going "next year" which is only internship- thus speciality positions often dont get mentioned. I had to call up-twice- and this was after the student in question notified them- to tell them they left off BWH radiology that was obtained this year; they only had said student's first year (prelim medicine). And look all you want but you'll never find my position at hopkins there. same reason. When you do see something that is misleading, its unintentionally misleading; such as the example that we may or may not have here w/yale smu; that is the *student* calls to tell them they're going to "Yale" when its really "norwalk hosptial- Yale affiliate". I have to ask you to trust me based on my history on vmd, but honestly they do at sgu try to get the placements right. Its just, well, its sgu.

![]() again, i'll just say if she is at Yale-New Haven Hospital (which believe it or not isnt even that nice of a hospital) at a Yale-specific residency then yes she deserves credit......if she's at the Hospital of St. Rapheal or Griffin hospital.....she is so far removed from Yale that microphage is right and i would have the same right to call my clinicals rotations cornell-affiliated which is just pathetic
