Thread: Please help...Stafford loan

I am confused abouut the stafford loan.

Is the loan interest free for the time that we are still in school? or are we required to pay back with interest from the moment we take out the loan?

Depends if you have subsidized or unsubsidized. If you have unsubsidized your loan starts accumulating interest and thus you are responsible for paying that intrest while in school. They allow you to postpone payment. So you won't be required to make payments while in school, just make sure you check the correct box on the form (can't remember which one it was).

Students at St. Matthews can only get stafford loans to pay for their MSHA. Stafford loans are not available for those that only wish to get their MD. St. Matthews students are not eligible for Stafford loans. They can only get health express and teri.
