Goljian Pathology

Anyone using this guy to study? I just heard about this guy and wanted to share with you this finding.

He is considered the top reviewer of pathology for the boards and some think it is best to use him for the pathalogy course itself as well. He has videos, notes and books you can purchase online.

Home this helps all students taking Path (Maine and Cayman campus)

Good luck !

ISBN# 0323008410 has gotton high ratings by med students.

However the best ratings are for his audio/ video lectures. He is money for pathology!

I acquired his audio lectures on ebay. I do believe that there may be a copyright issue here but I am not aware of it. There is about 40 hours of lecture in a systematic format. His lectures follow fairly close to Robbins. I have them all on my mp3 player and listen to them while at the gym, in the car, etc. I find them very helpful. I have only had them about 2 weeks but overall a good first impression. Many successful Step 1 takers have used these as their sole soure for Path review and have done very well. I am sure there are some that have not but overall he seems to be the most recommended in terms of Path Review. I highly recommend them. Good Luck

I recently took Step I (Aug.2nd) and did ok (235/95). Goljan alone is NOT good enough for Path on Step I. I had A LOT of Path on my exam. Study Kapan Path or use some other source and THEN use Goljan and First Aid Path as a review near the end of your study period.

Good Luck.

Start As Early As Possible

I am a former student of SMU...And I am currently studying for the board...Yes Goljan notes are the best yet they take lots of time to get through them...you need to start as early as possible and do not fall into the trap of cramming...it will not work for the board....Not only you will learn path from his notes yet pathophysiology, and almost everything.....They are absolutely the best....get them and know them inside and out and you will breath through the board ....Good luck to all of you.

I totally agree that it is not enough just to listen to the audio. I think the audios are great just to listen to when doing whatever as a good reinforcement. I am a learner by repitition, so the more times I hear it the more likely I will fully understand the concept and not just memorize it to forget it later.

On another note, Med school requires alot of discipline and I like to use my time wisely. I have 3 young girls at home, so 1-2 hours at the gym is a great place to listen to Path. Yes I would prefer to listen to something a bit more stimulating but Step 1 is fast approaching. Study hard and stay focused you will do great. Good Luck.
