    Changing Graduation location.

IS SMU even considering moving graduation from gran cayman to an american city?

Considering SMU's good standing in Maine and NY can SMU look into having their graduate ceremony over there. I believe SGU, ROSS and SABA all have their ceremonies in U.S cities, particularly NY.

Compliance and turn out would be far greater and students would be far happier. Considering that the SMU students are paying for the graduation is it wrong to say we should have some say?

    What are your views guys...

    What a great idea !!

Eventhough cayman is beautiful, all us soon to be practicing US physicians I presume would want to have it in a U.S city.

It would be somewhat of a consellation for not going to a U.S school.

I cant imagine the ceremony costing more than it would in cayman where everything is so expensive.

Think that any US medical school would allow students to tell it where to hold graduation? This seems different to me.

Still skeptical after all these years.

I think the originator of the post was suggesting moving the graduation location.

I too think its a great idea. NY or Maine sounds good to me although my vote is a bit biased considering I am from NY but either way it is a vote in favor.

Just curious; why would the state of Maine and NY care where SMU held its graduation ceremony? Saba and MUA both hold their graduation ceremony in Massachusetts currently.

There goes my excuse to go to Grand Cayman. I understand where you are coming from, and to a certain extent would like to see graduation occur in Maine, but man I want to go to Cayman! I think the best way to address this problem is to go through proper channels. As you see when contacting the administration directly and letting them know how we felt before starting a petition produced better results. I suggest you contact Dr. T, if enough people contact him about it, they may look into it. I suggest you all contact the student Reps to bring this up. I will bring this up in the next student rep meeting with the administration. In the mean time, those who favor holding graduation in the US start emailing the administration, let them know first how you feel.
