Anyways, I'll do what is best for me, and if takes going to NY, I'll go to NY and I'll do my best to enjoy NYC.
Wow, Chill. I was just kidding, don't chew my head off! Let's all be nice to each other, were all in the same boat.

ok, so let me get this straight, can we or can't we do all green core rotations in NYC? i thought that with the addition of the two new sites in ny, this would be good to go.

I would hate for anyone to thing think they can get all green in one place (based on your information) when it is not the case
Previously you could only do 5 out of 6 of the cores at ACGME approved sites in NYC. With the addition of Lincoln Medical, all 6 can be done at ACGME approved rotation sites. So if you do your rotations in Cabrini, Wyckoff, and Lincoln Medical, you can do all six cores, with all being ACGME approved (green). Cabrini is in Manhattan, Wyckoff in Brooklyn, and Lincoln in the Bronx. All are located within NYC, hence all cores can be done in NYC at ACGME approved rotations.

Now the school does not force you to do any rotations that are not ACGME approved, you may just have to wait, even move around. I have never implied otherwise.

hey

i live right outside the city, and im def willing to wait, as long as it is reasonable, and if the case may be, i get a chance to go to another state and get it done quicker, so be it.

Skidoc, i thought you were going for the purple rotations now, im personally looking toward a new diverse one, flannel rotations.

This is from the "Green States" sticky:

Quote:
Cabrini Medical Center, NY,= Surg, IM, Psych
St. Barnabus, Bronx= IM, Peds,
St. John's Episcopal, Far Rockaway= Psych
Wyckoff Heights Med Center= IM, PEDS, FP, Surgery
So at Wyckoff you can do: IM, Peds, FP
Cabrini: Psych, Surg
Lincoln: OB

Those are all ACGME approved rotations. Hence all cores now can be done in NYC.

Are you serous?? .... if you want Blue rotations... go ahead and take them.. I wouldnt touch them if they were tuiton-free.
Advice to everyone who wants to practice medicine anywhere: Stick to Green rotations. It's enough we're limited by attending a school that isnt accredited in all states. Staying Green (AGCME-approved) will give you the maximum states possible to practice in.

haha

haha...you mistook that md99...skidoc meant that those who really want the green rotations, which should be everyone, will make the sacrifice and actually move...not that we want blue rotations...
