SMU Real Annual Cost

Hi everyone,

I would like to know how much is the total cost of attendance for SMU. Like, those of you who received their package of acceptance, how much does it say for annual total cost? Both TERI and Health loan say that you can borrow up to your annual total cost, so what the school says will cost annually is it really how much you need for 2 or 3 semesters? I took an undergrad private loan and they didn't allow me to take another amount until 12 months would have passed by. Since SMU is composed of 3 semesters per 12 months, how does the annual cost apply, meaning if the total, example, is $45K per two semesters which is 8 months, will your lender allow you to borrow again for the third and forth semesters another $45K?

Take care you all

loan

Health express loan period is for a year at a time (at most)...that should cover your 3 semesters (for that 1 year period)....amount of loan varies, ie if you are doing MHSA, etc. Best bet for you to contact the Fin Aid office in Oviedo for the specific breakdown (per semester loan certification). A friend recieved 55k for the next 1 year (starting Sept 05), and she's doing MHSA in Maine next semester. I don't know the breakdown, but she will also be recieving Fed loans for the Master's....

good luck.

re

I borrowed $40,000 for two semesters and it has been more than enough. After two semesters, we are required to reapply for loans. Thus, roughly $80,000 for four semesters. However, if you borrow with the ExpressLoans, you can borrow $60,000, I think, for the year. I personally used Terri.

Post subject: loans

Hi guys,

Thanks a lot for replying it.

root.haxx you said "A friend received 55k for the next 1 year (starting Sept 05), and she's doing MHSA in Maine next semester" that means that one can apply at first just for the MD as far as loan is concerned (more $) and then as one has already received the amount that he is entitled to he can apply for the MHSA on the second semester so that he can receive more money from the Fed loans. I think for this plan to work fine, the lender can not have connection with the Fed loans throughout the MD program. If I am not mistaken, medachiever loans were based on the amount one receives from Fed minus total cost of acceptance.

Yes, I needed to cosigner for the $40K. However, I had no problem having my parents to cosign, as they have work in a stable job for 30 yrs.

Loans

For Health Xpress Loan, the co-applicant only serves to get a lower interest rate. If, for example, you do not have nearly perfect credit, you will not be approved. That means any late payments, etc. If you have any questions about how to fix negative credit, you should try this website:

creditboards.com

Even if you have you have good credit, you might want to check your credit report to see if you will have any anticipated problems.

....

Fixing credit in some cases is very easy.

If your credit is low due to excessive inquiries, high utility, or late payments, you can very easily restore it to perfection yourself with a few phone calls and online corrections.

If it's low due to bankruptcy, foreclosure, repo, judgement, chargeoff, collection etc., not you nor anyone can fix it until the requisite 7 or ten yrs has passed.

i became an expert on all this stuff in order to qualify for medachiever. i don't like health express as much for a number of reasons.
