Tuition Expenses and Financial Support

Two questions.

First, I was just looking at the costs listed on the SMU website and I wondered if someone could tell me whether or not the following fees are a one time fee or a per semester fee:

Recreation Fee $20
Admin Fee $175
Internet $100
Microscopes/Slides $250
Graduation Fee $500

Also, I understand tuition is $7900/semester (10 semesters in total), there is a $50 application fee, $500 seat deposit (which is used towards first semester tuition), and $200/semester during clinicals for insurance (5 semesters in total). I just want to be sure I'm not missing anything as far as academic costs (not including living expenses or books).

Second, on the admissions portion of the website it lists proof of financial support. What does this mean?

Thanks!

fees

I think you only pay the graduation fee when you graduate. I would assume most of the other fees are every semester. The $20 recreation pays for the gym membership. The $250 is listed on my invoice as "lab fee" and I assume that it is charged every basic science semester. Also, if you don't have health insurance, that's another fee. Mine was $329 just for me for the semester. Don't forget to add your cost of books on top of all of that.

last parf of my question

What is considered proof of financial support? How do we complete this portion of the application?

I just indicated what loans I would be interested in. In this case, I believe you can just put down Teri loan if your not indicating self-support. The loan approval date will come in once you get accepted and you actually apply for the Teri loan. I was also confused when I filled out that form. I think SMU just wants a rough idea on how you plan to pay for tuition.

The importance of financial is quiet important not only for SMU, but for Cayman immigration.
In most countries you will try to settle, they want to know how you plan to live there. Main reasons, they do not want someone to immigrate in the country and take advantage of the social plans or else.
