In a few states, international medical grads are required to have completed all of their core (3rd year) rotations at hospitals that have an accredited residency program in that specialty (ACGME or AOA). There are others (I believe three) that will not accept AOA rotations for an MD license (Nevada is one, off the top of my head).
Florida does not have any such requirements. Florida Hospital does all of their medical student training under the umbrella of their Family Practice program.
So, to have the best available number of states, you should do all green ACGME rotations. Which is why the clinical realignment is so important. Until this summer, when NYC is complete, in order to do all ACGME green in one city without moving, you'd have to go to the U.K. (Which I still think is great idea for a variety of reasons).
As far as the FL rotations go, I am not sure of their future. But failing all else, you could still do all of your electives (4th year) in FL if you so chose.

I'm aware of the "FP" designation. I was referring to the significance of having only one green rotation per hospital, but you answered it in the second part. Thank you.
So at the moment, we are bound to UK or maybe NYC? ALso, do you think there will be other ALL GREEN program soffered within the next few years?
Thirdly, can you attend different sites for various clinicals as long as they're in fact green? 3rd year don't have to be under one roof do they (UK or NYC)? Sorry if I'm long winded, but I'm on a roll.
