Well, if that's indeed true, hopefully there will be a listing of why SMU was disapproved and what they can do to get approved. Hopefully, it's not a big deal. SMU is still a young school.

This is an unfortunate development but I think we students should support and defend our school at this time. It has many fine things going for it after only seven years in operation and there is no doubt when it reaches the age of the big 3, it will be an amazing institution.
The administration posted somewhere that they were going to report everything to the students so you guys should hear something shortly.
Reading the report itself will answer a lot of questions. Thanks for your kind words. azskeptic

hey

That is a shame. I think like all of you, i was hoping that it would be approved. But as a future student, i believe that this school will bounce right back and we will have the CA approval sooner than you think. The school has been doing everything right, including the recent affiliation with HARVARd. I think everyone was expecting the denial due to SMU triying to pull their application. So to those that will be applying to the school or that will be reading this post trying to decide whether not to go or to attend, look at the school, its facilities, and its dedicated faculty. Any student will tell you that the school is new, but is a great school. And if you have any questions you can always ask the dedicated staff, current student or myself.

well, like most business decisions consider it this way. It relates to California (and perhaps Texas/NM who follow them). So if you can't live without those states, it affects you. But most important thing will be to consider the report when it is released. Consider it like a prospectus on a company you are going to invest in. What does it say? what is lacking? what needs to be fixed? Consider if it can be fixed in the time you want it to. This is a serious business decision.
