cores

I've been saying my Mantra of Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Detroit, London, and Orlando for so long, that I'm not sure.

I do know that you can do all of your cores at any of the UK sites. You can still do all of your cores in the above cities, but I'm not sure if all in one hospital, except Florida Hospital. I'll check with the clinical dept in the morning. The New York sites have only been available for 12 weeks at the stretch, so Ill have to check those as well.

I also know that you can do all of your cores save one in Christian Hospital BJC System St. Louis.

I'll post in the morning when I have the definite answers on that. Also, be sure to check the list from time to time, as we always have sites in development.

Checked with clinicals

Ok,

You can do all of your cores at Synergy, Jackson Park, Florida Hospital, and Atlanta Medical Center. You may do all of your cores except one at Christian Hospital BJC and Wyckoff Heights.

The US cities in which you may do all of your cores without moving are Atlanta, Baltimore, Chicago, Saginaw, and Orlando.

We are currently working on a adding a few new hospitals to the system, be sure to check www.stmatthews.edu for updates.

Cores

Are all the cores considered "green" at these locations?

Green rotations

* denotes all green rotations, + indicates green and non-green mixed, no mark means no green rotations:

Atlanta Medical Center , Atlanta, GA +
Christian Hospital BJC System, St. Louis, MO *
Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Roswell, NM +
Florida Hospital, Orlando, FL +
Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, MI
Harbor Hospital Center, Baltimore, MD *
Hotel du Grace, Windsor, Ontario *
Huron Hospital, Cleveland, OH *
Jackson Park Hospital, Chicago, IL +
Michael Reese Hospital, Chicago, IL *
Peninsula Hospital Center, Far Rockaway, NY +
Provena St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elgin, IL *
Providence Hospital, Washington, D.C. *
Sacred Heart Women’s Hospital, Pensacola, FL *
Saint Anthony Hospital, Chicago, IL *
Sheppard Pratt Hospital, Baltimore, MD *
Southwest Hospital and Medial Center, Atlanta, GA +
St. Agnes Hospital, Baltimore, MD *
St. Johns Episcopal Hospital, Far Rockaway, NY +
Synergy Medical Alliance, Saginaw, MI *
Winding Roads Health Consortium/Roane Gen Hosp, WV +
Wyckoff Heights Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY + (only OB/GYN is not)

Core Clinical Sites, UK:

Brighton General Hospital, Elm Grove, Brighton UK *
Chase Farm Hospital, Chase Postgraduate Centre, UK *
Colchester General Hospital, Colchester, UK *
Deaconess Hospital, Postgraduate Centre, Brighton, UK *
Princess Alexandra Hospital Harlow, Harlow, Essex, UK *
Rotherham General Hospitals/NHS Trust, Rotherham, UK *
South Downs Health, Brighton, UK *
Stepping Hill Hospital, Poplar Grove, Stockport UK *
Whipps Cross Hospital, Whipps Cross Road UK *

As you can see, for individuals concerned about green rotations, the UK is the best bet, as they are all green, and you stay in the same hospital the entire year.

Hi dt,

Right now, it's only FP and electives. It's a new site, and we'll see what develops with more experience with each other.

florida

alright st matts has an optional semester to take off for the boards. Lets say you take that optional semester off and take your step 1 at the end of the semester. Do you have to wait till you get your pass grade before you start in the hospital?? What happend god forbid if you fail? Are you pulled from US rotations and sent to UK??

another ??

alright thought of another ??
I dont mind moving around for rotations. That is not such a big deal for me.. i can deal with it. The problem i have is with the waiting list for the greenbook rotations. Is it true that the waiting list is very long? as in you may be waiting 4, 5, or even 6 weeks between rotations??!! Is it true that this may postpone your graduation almost a year. say theres about 18 months of rotations. I was told on one of your chats that it will typically take you about 2 and a half years to finish rotations. I was thinking about it and that means you are sitting around just waiting for about 12 more months!!! also durring this time are you still paying tuition .. that means you will pay an entire year of tuition extra because you are enrolled.. but just waiting for a rtotation to start up!!!!
please shed some light on this
