are there any stats out there about SMU match rate? e.g. of those who pass the boards, how many match, or do not match into a residency program on their first try?

Its funny b/c caribbean as a whole, ONLY 50% match every year out of total applicants!...These are people who have passed Step1, Step2 ck & cs, and all rotations!

I should rephrase that to all international applicants including the caribbean!
Obviously people reapply the next year after strengthening their applications!

that means nothing, the bottom line is what matters the most... 50% is 50% for the first try

there is not much you can do after you get your MD in one year...without residency... really not much

sounds about right, Ill bet the overall rate for Caribbean is even worse since we are the last pick. There is a clear distinction between us and normal FMGs.

i think a big reason for not matching for IMGs is because so many interview badly, or don't have good writing skills for the personal statement.

i recently spoke to the Chief of Rads and he echoed my beliefs, at least for his program.
