Hey I was wondering if we could start an up to date list of NON-Certified Student Loan companies that SMU students have used to bridge the gap via Davenport..

it looks like it is, because they send the check to you and only require you to fax them proof of enrollment in Davenport, so like a tuition bill, or unofficial transcript.

But..... I also don't know if Davenport is one of the "participating" schools for this loan program, because I hear this loan program rec's a small number of schools.

For example..... myrichuncle.com is another one that is uncertified.... but.... Davenport is not one of the schools that they recognize....

I may be wrong, but........I also see that for that loan, there is no income requirements, and you can apply for it on your own credit.

I would love to hear if anybody was able to get this Sallie Mae Tuition Answer Loan above COA at Davenport on their own sig.

That would be very good news for a lot of people.

I received Sallie Mae Tuition Answer through SJC's program for the last two years, on my own signature. However, as of June or July this year, they changed their requirements and I couldn't even get it with my mom cosigning this year!!!

I can only speak for the programs available through SJC, but feel free to check if they are available through Davenport. The ones I know of are the Chase private loan (collegeloansite.com) and the Astrive student loan. There is also a Wachovia loan that is private, but I believe it does need school certification...not sure about that one.

It seems most student loans that previously went through TERI (Next Student, Think, etc.) have all changed to Campus Door.

were you able to get any on your own sig, or did you need a cosigner?
