Student Loans

What are we going to do???? I can't pay for med school without loans. I was forced to take the summer off to work b/c I could not pay for may semester. Does anyone know what SMU is doing right now? This should never happen to use we are in med school. There is a shortage of doc's all over the world and we can't even pay for school.

there is a "sticky" above that talks about other forms of funding for MBA students to help give you more than the standard COA. Did you apply for the TAP? There is a new loan program that is suppose to be finalized and announcement about half way through this semester, that is suppose to cover tuition + cost of living. so we'll see how that turns out.

I honestly dont have a huge expectaton for this DAP ... but I believe if I perservere long enough... an angel may descend and then the DAP maybe the way to finish the rest of my education. ... what you guys think ?

by the way... I am sick of the adds that ValueMD places either at the bottom or the top of the page... they are useless, and annoying!!

I think that if you have enough faith in God all things are possible. Keep perservering. There is light at the end of the tunnel one day you will look back and say wow look at everything I have been through but look where I am now. Vision.

In the future, don't take a semester off. Coz there's people in ur shoes where the TAP came thru for them even when they had failed the same class twice and were not supposed to be eligible.

Oh that sucks. See that is what you don't want to hear as an incoming student drama on the administrations part that will delay you taking the boards and making it to clinicals and residency on time. Perhaps that is why SMU has so many transfers. Not good.

I know, I know. At least you know what you're getting into. It's like getting married, and b4 you say I do, you find out your fiance was in jail b4, addicted to crystal meth for 5 years, and is bipolar. Stuff you wish they weren't, but at least now you can make an informed decision. All these Carib schools have their hang ups, you kinda just pick the one that you feel you can handle.
