Per the letter that SMU CH sent out how much money is SMU going to provide with their new loan program? By the letter it looks like it is an addition to Teri and Davenport. Does anyone now more details ... Thanks

it just covers tuition + fees. and it is only available for those that qualify. such as if you were denied by Teri.

Exclamation loan options!

medjen--
you appear to be well-informed!
Ones that I have found that are not guaranteed by TERI are the Sallie Mae Tuition Answer, the College Loan Corporation, Student Loan Solutions private loan, and the Chase iStudent private loan.

It is all difficult to type out but I have dealt with pretty much every loan place out there, as well as the various guarantors of the loans. which ones allow deferment once in Residency, etc etc etc......

can you expound? I know all the grace periods, forbearances, which ones allow partial payments...

Wow... Looking at these posts makes me impressed how much some of you know more compare to school financial aid people. But here is a question I have... In order to apply to those private-credit based loans, would you apply as a Med student or as Davenport's MBA student?? Which school would you put down in order for the lender to certify your enrollment? MedJen if you could let me know, I would appreciate it... Thanks.

There are no private loans available for Caribbean medical students. Nota thing. Do any of you have ideas how this problem can be resolved, timely? Even St. Georges is suffering in this economic crisis. I would appreciate hearing from other students.

nextstudent.com is funded by TERI so i would recommend bank of america or chase private loans, also i found campusdoor.com, they are not funded by TERI so anyone interested should give them a shot.

SGU Suffering? No Really

SGU suffering I can't picture it. Aren't they approved by the feds and the have deep pockets as well. I am sure they will work something out for their students.

It's interesting to me that Robert Ross' new medical school has loans from CitiAssist.

The medical school appears to have access to Federal Backed Loans, but they have no school code. In fact, when I called them, they said their school code was assigned by Citi. So, no OPE school code. Is this discrimation against the other Caribbean schools, Netherland Antilles schools? I have no clue, but I am unhappy, because the school I will attend in September, has nota thing! I would appreciate hearing from fellow students. Best to all of you. Bubkas1
