I just called TERI. The woman I spoke with told me that there was a press release yesterday regarding the bankruptcy. She did not know the details and did not know how this would affect my current loans with them.

I also inquired about future loans and she said as of right now, they are still taking applications.

nope because of the war in iraq, "now" i do have to look over my shoulder and further more now my wallet is empty.

Enough about the Iraq war...What the heck are we supposed to do if we have no loans?

All I know is I have only 24 weeks of medical school left...Spread that over 2 semesters and I'll need about $37K or so in loans. I'm already in for just over $210K. This sounds like a pretty bad situation. I really have a crippling amount of debt and I will have no way to pay it back unless I can get my loans the next few semesters...I sure hope that the school has an ace in the hole for our FA.

i'm not a moderator but i wish we would all get off the subject of the war and back to if we are going to get teri to approve and disperse loans.

ok... sorry.... back to the topic...according to MEDJEN, teri is still taking applications...

i just wanna know what's the school doing about all this... come on... tell us something (besides telling us not to come here on this " horrible " website )

I have contacted Financial Aid office as well, and they have a check for me right now from TERI (it was received by SMU on April 2), so if the checks are still good, that means that funds have been received by SMU for the Summer semester.

I have tried to call TERI again and now got some other number to try to call that might know more than the customer service people. Of course this other number went to an answering machine for me to leave my name, number and they will call me back 'within 24 hours'.

I guess it is a wait and see right now....
