My process was pretty quick... once they got all my materials. After they had all my materials and brought them to the review committee -- they took less than a week to contact me by phone for an interview, and then I was accepted not more than 24hours later.
They did offer me a chance, during the interview, to say if I was considering other med schools and if I may need more time to accept/reject/consider other offers. Luckily for me, SMU has had two alumni from my family and so I was happy to accept quickly. Luck to you, runincrazy. |

Not at all. I had a 2.92 GPA (my Science GPA drifted upwards of a 3.12?) and got a 28M on the MCAT. My main pluses were really great LoRs and an internship along with a job as an MT for one year from UofM -- so I've had some hospital experience beyond my average hours of volunteer. I'm still fresh though.
So obviously, your GPA blows mine out of the water. I really don't know what's typical at this particular school though. Always emphasize your strengths.. realistically, of course ^^;;. Assume they're looking for why you DO belong, not why you don't. |

Hi all, I applied about 2 weeks ago and had an interview on tuesday the 22nd, I got the call today for acceptance. if anyone wants to know how the interview goes, pm me and I will let you know all about it.
besides, I was told that i have 7 days to make a decision. I had applied to Ross, Saba, Mua and the fact that I mailled their applications, I have not heard anything from them yet. still waiting to dicide wether I should accept or decline SMU. The Director of admission told me that I would have to pay the 500 and another 1000 within 7 days, is this normal for all of you guys or did I misunderstand? I am very excited though but I am a bit nervous. I have a Huge decision to make in only 7 days. congrats to all who have been accepted, maybe I will see you guys in May. by the way, I am from FL, anyone from FL please PM me so we can get to know eachother. thanks! |
