5th semester cayman orientation

For anyone who has been through 5th semester cayman I was wondering if it is mandatory to attend the orientation on monday? What is covered during this orientation? What happens if someone does not attend this orientation? I already booked my ticket to arrive on the island on Monday so I don't think I can attend the orientation. Is it worth it for me to pay $300 (yes, that is what the airline is asking for me to change my ticket) extra to come a day earlier for this?

im hoping you are a transfer student cause if you were in cayman and didnt notice all of the fliers then you might have other issues. orientation is mandatory why would you buy a ticket to go the day of school, it takes a couple of days to get settled, what exactly were you expecting...?...

its a bad idea to miss it but its not the end of the world. They tell students that its mandatory but its really no big deal. Save urself the 300 bucks. You will need it to spend it on other stuff.

Anything that's "mandatory" you should go to even if it is a waste of time. We don't know enough, since we're medical neophytes, to decide if something is truly mandatory or not.

Email the dean down there, and tell him your predicament. He'll probably let you out.
