Thread: Cayman Airways Lost My Baggage

Has anyone else had this problem? On my flight from Orlando to Miami my wife, son, and I were the only 3 people on the plane and I saw with my own two eyes our baggage get loaded on the plane. Then when we flew on Cayman Airways from Miami to Grand Cayman I get through immigration and go to the baggage claim and what do you know..... my baggage isn't there. We are talking about four 70lb bags with everything we own in it. So we're stuck here right now with nothing...... I went to the airport 11 this morning like they said and waited until 3 pm for the luggage and it hasn't arrived yet. I have had the worse 2 days in a long............ time. Nobody at the airport will help me out, and it takes a century just to talk to somebody. If my 4 bags don't show up, I have no idea what we're going to do. I'm at Sunshine Suites for now.... patiently waiting. has this happened to anybody else, if so what did you do?

P.S. don't fly in on a Sunday... because if this does happen to you, your going to be S.O.L because there is nothing open.

same thing happened to me about 2 years ago...yeah it definitely is not fun and it surely sucks. you will get your stuff though and don't let this make you bitter about the island or starting school. i kind of took it as a bad omen form the beginning which was silly i know but it totally ruined my outlook at first. i'm sure everything will work out and good luck. oh, and welcome to island life and island time. jk

I hear ya.......... the only problem is that i have no phone, because my cell "T-Mobile" doesn't work down here, and my vonage is in my suitcase! I would be fine if it were just me here, but I have a wife and a 7 month old son, so the strain of not having anything down here gets dramatically increased. They gave me 2 phone numbers to call and they never answer either of them..... man payphones are a pain. On one call I counted 30 rings with no answer. Oh well....... hopefully they show up.

happens to me every time... honestly every single time....it will show up in a day or two though

ok,,this is what you do, go to Digicell on west bay rd shopping ctr Strand plaza ask for your free phone now 1st sem students will all get a free cell phone this time wiht 5 bux credit on it,,,

Thanks guys for everything. I just got a call from the airport customs saying that they have found 2 of our bags and are going to be delivering them to me right now. I hope they find the last two......

seems to me Cayman Airlines aren't very reliable with luggage. I hope I'm wrong
