I personally tried to update the page with more information and create a more reliable resource but Wikipedia considered it "vandalism." What is the point of having edit on the site if you can't put up information.

The date listed for the establishment of the school is wrong. Listed as 2002, when it should state 1997. It was listed in IMED under Cayman in 2002, but SMU operated before in Belize.

That is the problem with Wikipedia, I think the school should seriously,

1)Talk to the Texas Board of education and inform them that we are accredited by numerous bodies and is not a fradulant institution (i.e New York, Florida)

2)Have their marketing person work on the wikipedia page to add more relevant information.

that is a whole different issue. wikipedia is a source that has every right to exist and smu is as good a subject as any. its up to the reader to understand the limitations of the source. calling for intervention by officials for slanderous material (or rather as rightly pointed out, libelous) is unreasonable. May as well ask for VMD and every blog to be taken down. if something incorrect comes up on wiki, you can always change it or post your arguements. if vandalism becomes a problem. wiki will lock it to anonymous users. in other words, effective mechanisms are in place that permits the free exchange of information with a reasonable level of responsible checks and balances.

  • Texas: similarly placed SMU on their list of "Substandard or Fraudulent Institutions", and notes that attempting to use the degree to obtain a medical license is a Class B Misdemeanor in that state.[7]

Would it be possible for some one who has the computer expertise to try editing the Texas section?

Also. can the marketing department of SMU please come up with something for our school for wikipedia
