Not really neccessary, shuttle is enough. Some people rent to go around the island the first few days. Waste of money I say.

    2. is there a washer and dryer in the RH?
Yes, 6-7 washers and dryers. I believe its 1.75CI per wash/dry

    3. how is the internet connection in the RH? ill be using wireless...should i bring ethernet cables?
Sucks, throttled at 256k but run at about half that. Most rooms have ethernet cables, wireless is not reliable.

    4. lastly, where do you guys go to get down to the beach? i.e. which hotel?
Its called seven mile beach for a reason. Take your pick.

    congrats

first i want to say congrats on your admission. i know how excited & freaky it could be at the same time; i was a 1st sem. student last semester. yes there are washers and dryers in RH. Take the shuttle with other students by the way it costs 1.50CI which is like 2 USD. no dont bring ur own cords . cords are available for each room and if thers not one in ur room ask them at the front desk they will give u one. the wireless connection in RH is dependent on your location. some ppl get better signals than others. but u will get a signal. i was never satisfied with my signal turnin off and on so i just keep my laptop plugged in to the ethernet on the wall.
i hope this has answered ur questions. calm down and be ready to have a great time!!

they actually don't provide cord anymore, so bring your own will save you 15CI because the wireless connection in RH is pretty unreliable.

just get a basic ethernet cable - like a giant telephone cord. You don't want to buy one once you get there becuase it is your only means of communication until you get a phone.

    Hello,

Bring your own ethernet cable for your room, long if possible.
The internet connection is on a login basis and limited at 350Kbs per student. We tried to leave it open before, but then we had students downloading at 4meg/sec and the rest of the RH without internet....

    See you soon in Cayman

15ft sounds about right. make sure u get the ethernet cable, not the crossover cable (they look exactly the same).
but remember that, even when those who move you be kings or men of power, your soul is in your keeping alone. When you stand before God you cannot say "but I was told by others to do thus" or that "virtue was not convenient at the time." This will not suffice. Remember that.
