Very promising updates from SMU Chancellor...
Well, I am sure by now most of you have read your emails and have been uplifted by the loads of great news announced to us by the SMU Chancellor (92% pass rate, residencies in top institutions, renting more space, purchasing more equipment, signing 40% more hospitals). It is really good to hear all this...
Just thought it would be nice for the school to update all this info on their website (especially the new hospital affiliations) so that we all can see the words before our very eyes. Hope the updates come soon enough...

well aparently the smu chancelor only wants us to know what he wants to tell us, he claims there is some kind of open door policy, but HEAVEN FORBID they actually tell us things that are going on with the school... Whats going on with Cali? Why is it all of the sudden a big problem to tell what is going on with the school??? Why is the school spending money on things we dont need instead of things we actually need??? What new equipment are we getting??? Our clinical skills lab looks like abandoned material left over from a doctors office that was destroyed in the hurricane.... Its sad to say that Ross has a better clinical skill department than we do...They raised our tuition so why not give us something for it instead of new lockers when the old ones were perfectly fine and the last thing needing replacement around here.

LISTEN you re just a student here and not a shareholder,,you ll know stuff soon enough about the school and not whn you want it they have a business to run and a school 2nd,,,they owe you nothing but an education you pay for and help with resid when the time comes,,I m finding many of you are too pushy or spoiled and no school or business is going to do their biz on a website when it is important stuff like this,,call the school , email or write to them but not on here...at least go to their website and ask away but cmon now..have a little respect and stop being so spoiled..many here have a lot of growing up to do I see and I do mean it by the way you act we all love to kid around but at 23-24 yrs of age you should have more maturity and sense use it!! |

ok ok
ok ok I see what you mean but cheap id? I know its good feeling to have a nice plastic credit card type of id but fact is you do not,,so what..do you really need one now to feel important,,maybe they are working on it? simulator would be nice but sometimes all the fancy stuff is not necessary but I see what you mean,,ross also charges a lot more than smu so maybe thats why they have it and smu doesn t yet? I don t know but to complain about trivial things like this is a complete waste of time for all |

If you feel so strongly about Ross having "superior" facilities, then by all means transfer there. All the points you made I'm sure the administration is aware of and hopefully will address. Your approach in itself is abrasive and counter-productive. You will only be in Cayman for 16 months for basic sciences then you are off to clinicals. Why waste your energy? Many people just come on here to whine, and it is getting sickening. I have to agree with DrJJ1 on this one. Learn to become an independent learner and you will succeed in any environment. There has been people before you and many more after you that have come and gone through the Cayman campus and will succeed. Just roll with the punches. People need to put on some manpants.
