.....
Being in 5th semester here in Maine, i have realized that the student who is ready for clinicals, is not the one who can play with expensive gadgets. But the one who can take a great medical history, do a complete physical exam from head to toe, and of course pass Step 1. Having that under your belt gives you at least the predisposition not to look "retarded" in clinicals, otherwise the rest is completely up to you.

![]() If you enjoy the school overall then focus on the positives and don't dwell on the negatives. I have been where you are and am almost done so I am talking from experience. The school is making improvements. Stop complaining over minor issues. Yes the school doesn't have a harvey simulator, but many students have been educated without one. If you want to know what to expect in clinicals read your Bates, pay attention in PD 4 & ICM. I can talk from experience. Concerning the TOS, they are there for a reason and if you can't abide by them then don't post.

The best way to get ready for clinicals is STUDY from BOOKS, not practicing on a dummy doll. lol
I.D. cards are not anything to be complaining about, THEY ARE just plastic cards. They are not expected to be govt. issued or a replacement of your passport. There is a lot of things to running a school, especially a medical school. Go open a small day care to see how it is run. If you don't like the seats, bring your own and put it in the front. I think the school campus has made sufficient improvements to the campus, and recently electronics (LCDs, ect...). Just study the books, pass your boards and go on. |

from the few things you suggested, lets compare which is more important.
1) new lockers 2) dummy doll 3) online medical subscription First I would rather have new lockers to put my stuff when I am in the library studying. A dummy doll does no good, They are expensive and books and partners are better. Some people learn better in groups Online medical subscription - Nobody would use it! maybe 2-3 students doing research. Otherwise someone may look at 1 article in 1 year when studying or when a particular subject needs to look at research on a specific receptor or something that would not be on Step 1,2,or 3 anyway. So what else would you be suggesting... |
