How harder is it to get into an internal medicine residency than a family medicine residency? I noticed that SMU has a lot more family medicine residencies than other schools of its same age (ex: mua). Why is this? Is it harder for SMU students to get into internal med and other types of residencies? I'm asking because I am interested in St. Matthew's, and I have an interest in going into internal medicine (and very little interest in family med). I would appreciate you guy's inputs. Thanks.
