Sure you can bring your physio shelf scores. I’ll wait for you in front of the lib. And while I’m looking at your scores, you can jump off the lil balcony… show me how high you can really jump. Seeing that you are not even in my physio class and have NO CLUE WHAT SO EVER what I’m talking about, you should not worry about me or my class… learn to mind your own business and stay out of what don’t regard you. Maybe that way, you can learn to stay out of trouble. I guess that would also explain why you were in so much trouble before you started med school… you just don’t know how to mind your own business… just something to think about… Last edited by p_in_da_wind; 11-22-2006 at 03:53 PM. |

i think u dono what youre talking about either... dont make me go R. ke ll y on you... "I wanna piss on you.." Oh! just for the record... i picked up my scores today, i did fine... but maybe you should take the same exam... lets see how you feel when you spend entire block studying for something just to find out that the exam was not testing material given to you in class... i bet you'd be very happy too... i know.. some people have opposite reactions for things...for example; they cry when they're suppose to laugh.. and laugh when they're suppose to cry... i know you took neuro and since you did sooooooooooo good in all your classes and you are so close to taking your Step, you should know about this syndrome… if not… then I guess youre not ready for step either… sorry that I had to be the one to break to ya.. Re:
C'mon guys, let's at least pretend that your wish is to be future professional and behave according to that....
It is every student's responsibility to learn the material and pass Step 1 on his or her own, the school can't do much should we decide otherwise. However, the prof's are here to show us the most important stuff and suggest that our profession will be revolving around that. There is not much sense to talk about something two hours and than send us home with “read all the chapters and make sure you know all the details including footnotes”. There is simply no time for that. I mean this in general, not just one particular class…. |

just to update people not in the class, they curved the grades....big time
a SIXTEEN point curve was added to the grades, which in my opinion is ridiculous, bad teacher or not. and in my opinion, the teacher was not good, told us to study things that werent on the test, and tested on things that werent necessarily stressed in the lecture. all of that is fairly accurate. i also cant understand 80% of the words that come out of the man's mouth. (now i have problems understanding all 3 of the physio teachers, but he is worse than the other 2). therefore, i zone out in class and and taught myself the material the week before the test on my own from the lectures and lectures alone... and yes the test was hard, but not impossible...i was much more bewildered by the 2nd path exam for example...but that's just me and for the record, after he explained that 12 (of 75) questions were thrown out giving us an exta 16 points on the test, multiple people had the balls to raise their hand and complain further, requesting (demanding?) that he give back more points...are you serious? the exam gets an almost 20 point curve and you want them to give you more free points? you should be embarassed. and this isnt to say that i dont appreciate the curve, as it moved me from slightly failing to compfortably passing to exam, but dont get greedy...come on now. at other med schools (carib), the mention of a double digit curve would get you laughed at, by professors and students alike... just my opinion... |

Just a question, and I'm not trying to be a jerk, but if you guys didnt understand what the professor was saying why didnt you say something during his first lecture rather than waiting till the exam was over? I had a physics TA straight from eastern europe in undergrad and we let her know right away that we couldnt understand her, and the school fixed the problem. perhaps smu might have done the same thing?

Ha
hehehehehehe thats pretty funny, but i give you the benefit of a doubt that you misunderstood me...
what i intended with my comments was that the curve was ridiculous and embarassing REGARDLESS of how i did...just out of disclosure, i added that it helped me out, but that is besides the point. (how could a 16 point curve not help?). i was fine without the curve (yes i failed, but it was a hard test). i was just stating that a 16 point curve is excessive...a 17 point curve is excessive, a 14 point curve is excessive...(i can keep going here, but i HOPE you get my point). ANY curve in the teens, IN MY OPINION, is just not the way to do it. and out of full disclosure so i dont get attacked anymore, i got a 67. so its not like i needed 13 points, but got pissed about 16...and im not gonna stand up and say that they should take back the points...i understand that alot of people didnt do as well as they deserved and needed some points...but to argue for MORE after getting 12 free questions was just rude. and if you only needed ONE more point to be in a comfortable place...i think you can handle it. and also, on my "renegade and greedy" behavior, i discussed with three people in the immediate vacinity of me in the classroom and they agreed that asking for more points in addition to the 16 already given was "greedy" and "embarassing". (but i dont want to get into name calling, it doesnt solve anything. im sorry if i offended anyone, dont take it personally. i was just appalled at the time) and now that i think of it...if you were passing before this exam, anything above a 50 (pre-curve) isnt going to hurt a huge deal (it wont help, thats for sure, but its not going to singlehandedly ruin the class for you). and if youre not in that category, and got below a 50%...then a curve should be the least of your concerns. and lastly, since this is running long...im not some pretentious arrogant honor student that doesnt understand when people have troubles...ive failed my share of classes, i know what it feels like to bomb a test. but i was just trying to say that we should be thankful for a huge curve and not turn around and attack the man for not giving us more free points...i thought it was rude...and now im done talking. so now you and the rest of the population of the school can stone me to death for being to selfish and greedily-minded...go for it |
