Thread: SMU CEO to meet with students at Wyckoff Heights - Thurs, Oct 19

Just heard directly from the student director here at WHMC that the new SMU CEO is coming for a site visit on Thursday, October 19. Any and all SMU students at the hospital or near us should please keep the lunch hour open so we can meet with both JR and the CEO for a Q&A about the future of clinicals and a (constructive) airing of complaints and concerns.

PM me for more details. Flyers are planned to be posted around the fifth floor. I'll update this thread if I learn more.

He's REALLY good. He met with me and a few other's in student leadership when he first got hired. He was serious about getting our honest input, and he demonstrated a geniune interest in our opinions and point of view. You all should definitely attend.

Well... we havent heard anything about the meeting at wyckoff. Should we assume the meeting is off ?

Sorry for the lack of updates - the meeting time wasn't solid until yesterday. We are meeting with him and JR at 11 am in one of the main conference rooms on the fifth floor tomorrow (Thurs, Oct 19).

If there are any students in the area (even if you aren't at Wyckoff at the moment), please find the time to come by and attend if you can. I guess the main agenda for the day is to talk about possible new clinical rotation sites next year and of course improving the rotation request system. But of course pretty much everything is open for discussion.

The meeting went on at 10am. Basically the meeting was more of getting input from students. We touched on numerous issues and were updated on a new clinical site, and the adding of one more rotation at St. John's Mercy. Meeting went well.

A new clinical site in NYC...sorry for not being more specific (I was typing during a fast break). The only change for St. John's Mercy is that Surgery is going to be added (and yes it is ACGME).
