Orientation and Storm
Dear all,
Welcome to St. Matthews University School of Medicine. The hurricane watch has been lifted for Grand Cayman, and according to the Cayman National Hurricane Committee Ernesto does not realistically pose a danger to Grand Cayman. Therefore, St. Matthew’s will be conducting its Fall, 2006 Orientation Day according to schedule on Monday, August 28, 2006. Classes will officially begin on Tuesday, August 29, 2006. For Orientation Day, a continental breakfast will be offered beginning at 7:30am, and speakers will begin their sessions at 8:30am. During orientation, Dr. Nasser, Dean of Basic Sciences, will have class schedules distributed, which will clarify the times and days that your classes will be held. We recognize that inclement weather and the threat of a hurricane may have impacted negatively on your travel plans, resulting in difficulty arriving for orientation and the first scheduled day(s) of classes. Please be assured that administration is sensitive to this possibility and will take necessary measures to accommodate you and your needs in the days to come. Once again, welcome to St. Matthews. We wish you success in the pursuit of your degree in the science and art of medicine Regards, Stephen Heller, Ph.D. Dean of Student Affairs -- Dr. Stephen B. Heller Dean of Student Affairs Associate Professor of Psychiatry Director of The Learning Enhancement Center St. Matthews University School of Medicine PO Box 32330-SMB Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands British West Indies w: 345 945 3199 c: 345 326 1024 fax: 345 945 3130 sheller@smucayman.com
