There are alot of states that offer everything you mention here. To bad you can't practice in that state while in many of the others you can.

Glad it was great reading. I'm still going to outscore both of you, along with the rest of your schools, (by far) on Step 1, 2 and 3!!!
if you do, more power to you. heck, if you get that theoretical 300 ("theoretical" because nobody has really done it before), i want your autograph .

we tend to discuss usmle correlations with mcat scores a lot on these forums. its a debated topic..... and rightly so.

however, a topic that wouldnt get much debate is the correlation between performance in basic science courses to an absolute killer usmle score. just a thought for you .

what state has all of that? maybe texas..... although it would be a much longer drive to each of those things then a couple of hours.

Your statement fails to remind people that only 2-3 states review schools... so you can chill with the CAPS.

It doesn't matter what school you go to... Your step scores depend on you and you only. These schools only provide you with the resources however, it's up to you to apply those resources. I find it funny that people are arguing about which school is the best of the worst. No matter how you look at it or how you rank it they are all caribbean medical schools. YOU ARE GOING TO BE AN IMG!!! Your residency isn't going to depend on did you attend Ross or SMU unless you want to practice somewhere that you can't. If that's the case then it's just stupied to attend that school and that's your own fault. In my opinion..... They both Suck!! I went to Ross for a visit and decided it wouldn't work for me and I'm a student at SMU. Only thing I regret is not waiting a year and re-applying to US schools again. I'll never know if this time I would have got accepted instead of wait listed. Other than that, they will all get you where you want to get.

That's the point. An IMG is not an IMG because if you go to SMU you are barred from practicing in certain states. That means your education is not considered equal.

This is so pathetic...If you want information about each school, then visit each respective school you owe it to yourself. If you are interested in Cali or any other state that has disapproved SMU (via either the Cali decision or whatever) then don't go to SMU. Simple as that.

I attended both schools. I am doing rotations at Wyckoff with my former Ross classmates, and we all say the same thing. You hear the same complaints from people: "Oh _________ (insert foreign school's name) sucks because...".

I find it more hilarious when I see self proclaimed experts on foreign medical schools give out information when infact they are not currently enrolled in a med school. I wouldn't count posting on VMD as experience...
