You've got to be kidding me. You really need to know who you're talking to before you say something like that.

Just like Dawgfan, I chose SMU over Ross. The main reason being the island. My #1 priority is my wife and I wanted to make sure she was safe and comfortable. I'm an extremely logical person, so I guess your statement is false.

Not to say that SMU is better than Ross. Obviously, Ross has been around longer and has more money and a long-term reputation. Nobody can really comment on the teaching unless they've been to both schools and board scores given by caribbean schools are never accurate. So with all of the, it comes down to state approval, BUT there are often extenuating circumstances that can alter a decision.

You could go to Ross, and be shot, stabbed, hung, stretched and crucified too because the area is not safe.

Only a Ross graduate needs to defend their diploma and their life

pointless vs dumb

Yeap, it never fails . These discussions on my school better than yours are both pointless and dumb. They quickly degenerate into p*$$*ng contest, and accomplish nothing. If you want to be a doc then both schools could get you there. But the rankings are meaningless. They both are chartered outside of U.S. and will give you a proud status of an IMG for the rest of your life. I suppose it matters only until you get a residency. The rest is up to you. Both schools have pros and cons. To the OP: please, do yourself a favor and run a search on this topic. You'll get multiple threads on it.When I was at ROSS lots of ppl transfered to SMU. I did too, but the life on the island of Dominica got me quite sick, and I'm still trying to get back to normal, so I could start SMU. My advice would be for anyone: Don't "major" in the "minors". And don't sweat the small stuff. If Cali, and her clones (read clowns) are important to you, then why even ask? You already know that SMU didn't get it. I know for a fact that Cali is one of the worst States in the nation to practice medicine, or to start any new business. Don't want to get in the politics, that's a totally different topic. Go where you please, and be happy!

Best of Luck

i care little to nothing about ross vs smu. an img is an img is an img. california (especially hollywood) on the other hand is viewed largely as a joke by the real 49 states and is seen as a dumping ground for all of the nations overpaid and gluttonous personality-disordered freaks. chew on that gilly boy.

Well, I would agree it would've been a lot better if SMU got their Cali approval, or if they've never applied at all. But if they didn't how the heck would they know? Just like ppl posting here "what are my chances?" Just apply and you would know. Those of you who are proponents of ROSS... I don't know if you guys have evr been there. I have. I'd say the mantra/broken record 50 States, 4000 graduates is grossly overrated. You can't compare 30+ y.o school with 8+ y.o school. That's just baseless. So if your family is important to you, or in my case, I've gotta watch what I eat, and eat on schedule, Dominica was extremely tough. And I've got quite sick over there. I'm not saying that one couldn't get sick on Cayman, but some of you guys need to get over yourselves. Just visit Dominica. Everything we do needs to be looked at in a certain perspective. Being accepted to ROSS does not mean you'll make it there. And I don't mean just in the academic sense. So go ahead, try, and see it for yourself.

So true, SABA is not much older than SMU. Why could they get it done and not SMU! But, we have to remember there is always tomorrow. So, you never know what can happen in the future. SMU continues to improve, and who knows.

I know we are going to produce some of the best doctors the world has ever seen....No one can dare argue with the future of SMU....These other schools have been around for ages, and are either the same as when they started....I have never heard someone say how wonderful SABA is!

and I BELIEVE that I would strongly hesitate to believe anything you say
