What were the three alternatives presented?
There is no way it can be explained in short on the forum. The best of the three was a sit-down dinner/ceremony at the Westin. It is being looked into to see if it would fit us b/c rumor has it that it only fits 400, which means everyone would be limited on how many they could invite. After everything is looked over, our white coat committee will make the best educated decision as they have all along, and the class will be informed immediately.Originally Posted by momMD2B

Does the school organize the white coat ceremony or is this up to the students to take care of it? (e.x providing white coats w/ emblems, cost of renting a hall, etc.)
Is there a finalized date and location for the white coat ceremony yet? Also, is there a limit on how many people you can invite?
Thanks!
Is it true that SMU doesn't organize the white coat ceremony, and students have too. Also why does it take place after 3rd?
Yes, there is a white coat ceremony committee that oversees the whole event. I don't understand why it is not held after 4th or 5th semester...probably has to do with the class splitting up (some remain in Cayman, some go to Maine).
Juni
It does have to do with the class splitting up after 3rd, but I guess that will change when we no longer go to Maine. As for the date, it is set for Saturday July 15th at the Westin, and right now there is no limit to how many people you can invite.
