Back To School

The student government here at St. Martinus Medical school serves many purposes: As a collective voice for the students, as a means of communication between the administration and the student body, and we are a group of people designated to "get things done," to name just a few duties. Awareness is a subheading to "a voice for the student body." The SGA, or student government association serves to better the academic and general wellbeing of the students. I have been asked by the President as former secretary to the government to write about my first week back here in St. Martinus after the vacation, which I might add was too short.
As usual, classes started with introductions and general greetings from the proffesors. I personally find it difficult to get right back into study-mode following two weeks and family, food, and fun in the sun. My classes this semestar are Physiology, Biochemistry, and Nueroscience. So far everything is going fine; in Neuro. we were in the lab identifying structures of the brain on the brains we had perserved from anatomy lab last semester. In biochemistry Dr. ****** started with bioenergetics and an introduction to metabolism in general. Physiology is my favorite class this semestar because Dr. Elshot is such a fantastic teacher and she makes a vast subject seem simple. I'm truly happy she is here teaching at St. martinus.
Apart from school we had one student government meeting to orient the new students and old students with the new governing body. We discussed activities for the upcoming weekend like climbing Mt. Cristophel, BBQ at Daibooi beach at sunset, and of course the group gathering at the movies to watch the new StarWars picture on thurs. One of the best parts of being part of the student government is being able to organize and events that being people together. I've noticed a huge difference in the student body and faculty after all the gatherings and events that were put on last semester. I think it is important to bring people together on social terms and not just academically, it eases the tension of the medical school environment and it helps people realize that we are all in this together, working towards a common goal.
I wish everyone here at St. Martinus University the best of luck and to any prospective students wishing to visit email us at emailsga@yahoo.com.

Smile Stop teasing me

You now what?

You should stop teasing a brother!
I am not even there yet, and you are giving me that feeling I was in one of those classes with you
