Dean of Clinical Sciences without a license???

Well, looks like the dean of clinical sciences got into trouble with the board and found curacao as the last resort...his wife also got her license suspended over the same issue. I wonder whats the qualification of the rest of the faculty.

http://www.massmedboard.org/public/p.../rel121802.pdf

In a Final Decision and Order, the Board voted to revoke the medical license of Dr. ABC
of Newton, a board-certified neurologist. The Board found that Dr. ABC had engaged in conduct
that undermines the public confidence in the integrity of the medical profession and that indicates a
lack of good moral character, by engaging in boundary violations with patients, including sexual
misconduct with one patient, between October 1997 and April 2001. Dr. ABC also failed to make
certain required disclosures on his medical license renewal application. Dr. ABC, a 1973 graduate of
the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in South Africa, has been licensed to practice
medicine in Massachusetts since August 1979. He has not practiced since March 13, 2002, when he
entered into a Voluntary Agreement Not to Practice with the Board.

I read this story six months ago.
I read this story three months ago.
I read this story two days ago.
I read this story today.

In the meantime I believe SMU has had several students score above 90 on Step One.

Please find a new story to beat to death.

The forum is for incoming students to inform them as much as possible for them to make a right decision. How many students have taken USMLE step one? And how many students failed USMLE step one on their first time they have taken it? I would like a actual number of students not percentage of passing or failing. But on your web site it only tells the percentage, which is not a good indicator. Its very miss leading. Also how many students are doing clinical at this time? I think they are proper questions? I would like to know the information.

Thank you.

All new students should be aware of St. Martinus financial problem. First of all this guy back in the states "Mr. C" will never give you your money from either a loan or if you paid too much, that extra money will take FOREVER to be returned to you. For example i have a Sallie Mae loan and i was suppose to get $7,000 as my spending money for the semester. My money was sent to the school on April 9th. Sallie Mae told me MOST schools give you your money within seven days of the first disbursement. Todays date is May 30th...still no money...I would like to know what they did with my money, since they could not give it me. Also, he is always making up excuses of why the money has not transferred into my account. For example, I called "Mr. C" one day and asked him for my money and he had told me I am in the bank right now depositing the money into your account. He said, "Your money will be there by Tuesday." So Thursday rolls around and still no money, so I call him and he goes oh yeah I haven't gotten a chance to go to the bank to deposit your money.

Why should we not be allowed to post on here. You see SMU or actually St. Martinus students posting on the CMU thread. The reason I posted on this thread is because I want to let the incoming students KNOW the REAL truth about St. Martinus. I am not the only one going through this problem, there are classmates I have here that have a problem with St. Martinus's finacial problem.

personal problems

I can't think of a single student that left st martinus, who did not have pressing academic and/or personal (family, not enough support) reasons for doing so. (not true, one guy transferred to a better/older school...seriously good for him!) . The others who left had issues, all had issues. The school is new and obviously, large numbers of the best and the brightest will not come here. The few smart and dedicated that come here are doing well and have no problems. This forum apparently is for the angry, depressed and not academically inclined to malign schools which they attended. Its quite pathetic to blame a school for everything that is wrong in your life. I think its an unrealistic expectation to expect a school to fix your credit/financial/emotional/sexual/health/academic problems. Fix yourselves first people.
