hey FDL1...thanks for the post. if all the folks except one from the class passed, that is great news. that would be a great indicator of teaching, or at the very least the work ethic of the students at st james. if jpryor would have simply stated something like that, i could easily agree with his position as far as prepping students for the usmle. instead, he tries to impress with convoluted arguments and verbosity, and it winds up becoming a discussion pretty distant from the original point.

btw, my posting really has nothing to do with what i think of my school. i personally think my school was average in terms of prepping folks to get back to the US. no MCQ's, no USMLE based curriculum and no US rotations scheduled make it a bad place to go unless you have a lot of organization and self motivation skills. people try to convince everyone that any nay sayer must have alterior motives to talk bad about a school, and that we must be turning up our noses or recruiting. the fact is that i have plenty of issues with my own school as well.

best of luck to you.

Gee, I have the feeling that if NeilC keeps posting I'll eventually be the reason he got bad scores. Don't rationalize here, Neil...we all know that the measure is the Step exam.

I Taught at St James

for a couple of semesters and I can tell you this. Most of the slamming of the school is not true and St. James does have residents in US hospitals. Also, there are many from St. James who have passed their USMLEs. If you are willing to study regularly, you will do fine. If you decide to party every day and cram study one day a week, you are wasting your time and money.
