Thread: January 2013 Anguilla

Got accepted for Jan 2013 and I'm excited to meet other students, both in my semester and other semesters! Post here if you're also going to Anguilla for Jan 2013 . I'm hoping to live in a 3 bedroom apartment so I'm looking for roommates. Also, any advice you can give me before coming to the island (what to bring, where to live, books/review guides that are helpful, car or no car, etc) would be much appreciated since I won't be able to come visit before classes start. Thanks!

Hey, I just got accepted to Anguilla in Jan 2013 as well... I have no idea what to bring either but if you got tips just let me know, I'll be glad to be your roommate too.

Hi everyone, my name is Kurt and I'm accepted for January '13. I'm from New England, I live in NH, work in MA, and spend a lot of time in ME. I'm coming down to visit the campus and find a place to live this fall around Columbus Day. I want to be very active at the school. I was a student senator for my undergraduate government in college, and would like to be just as involved at St. James in clubs and activities.

I'm very active, friendly, and easy going. I love water sports (water skiing, swimming, surfing, wake boarding, scuba diving etc). Looking forward to meeting all of you.

I am also starting in 2013 January i am coming down in December the second week to look for a three bedroom apt for me my wife and kids, can anyone help me? My name is Dwayne.

Really looking forward to going down. I was told that if you let them know you are coming, they will let you sit in on a lecture and you can meet the professors.

I emailed the billing office in Chicago about getting a financial statement so I can get my loans in order. I got an email back from an accountant named Jeff Roder at St. James. He said that they don't send financial statements to students, and he just gave me the link on the website for tuition estimates. That was disappointing. How are we supposed to know how much of a loan to take if we are just given estimates?

Secondly, I was also told that my advisor Maureen Cummings, is no longer with St. James, and I will be assigned a new one. Has anyone else run in to this problem? I asked for a number to call so I can get the ball rolling about getting a new advisor, but I haven't heard anything back yet.

I have my interview on Monday and I am really stressing out about it right now, do you have any tips or anything that could help me? I read somewhere that they ask about current health care systems in both US and Canada, did anyone get that?

In addition, do you know if there are any spots left for Jan 2013 entrance? I heard that they reject people as soon as they have filled up their quota in terms of seating even if they give you the opportunity for an interview.

They have not filled their quota yet I just got accepted today.
