Thread: January 2013 Anguilla

Got accepted for Jan 2013 and I'm excited to meet other students, both in my semester and other semesters! Post here if you're also going to Anguilla for Jan 2013 . I'm hoping to live in a 3 bedroom apartment so I'm looking for roommates. Also, any advice you can give me before coming to the island (what to bring, where to live, books/review guides that are helpful, car or no car, etc) would be much appreciated since I won't be able to come visit before classes start. My name is Sarah, I am 24, from Nova Scotia Canada. I applied and was accepted to Bonaire, Jan 2013. However, today I called an requested to change campuses to Anguilla. Can't wait to meet you all!!

I will be hoping to find 1-2 roommates. If anyone is interested please let me know! I have a friend starting down there in Sept 2012 and will be helping me find housing.

Don't worry about the interview, it is fairly straightforward. Be sure to google some common med school interview questions and have some answers prepared. There will be nothing to surprise you on the interview if you do that. Good luck, I am sure you will be accepted!

I also am starting in Jan 2013 in Anguilla. I was wondering what you are planning for books and stuff. I've read almost all the forums and looks like buying BRS books is STRONGLY recommended. Have any of you ordered the books? Do you think it'll be better to buy the texts they recommend? or get pdfs?
When are you planning to go before the semester?

I am starting in Jan 2013. I was wondering if any of you have found housing yet? I have been visiting the real estate site from the school website and it looks like a lot for a single room. I am looking for other people who would also benefit from living together and studying together. I would want to pick a couple of places then decide by consensus the best place when we get there since so many people advise not to sign anything till we get there.
so..... Are there any nice, friendly, clean, and eager people who are willing to look for and share an affordable and decent place with me?

Even if we don't room together I think it would be immensely helpful to get to know one another before we get to the island. So people, keep talking.

nice! 2 of my friends are starting in Anguilla, one in fall 2012 and one in jan 2013...
i ended up accepting Bonaire because my advisor told me its a better choice for american citizens... i dont know why??
