Thread: Housing Info for Anguilla for September 2012

Hi all! I was wondering if anyone has started to look into housing and living expenses for the fall semester. I looked at a few apartments and they don't seem that bad at all. Actually very cosy. Any ideas would help. Also, a room-mate would be nice.

Hey! I was told that it is fairly early to look for housing and it is best to wait until we have arrived to Anguilla. But honestly, I'm kind of anxious, so I've been looking up a few apartments as well. I am interested in living with 1-2 roommate(s).
My advisor mentioned that the chicago office will send out a student roster, so we can contact one another during our roommate search. It would be nice to start now with finding roommates or at least getting to know one another.

I agree; I'm traveling to Anguilla in about 3 weeks to visit the school, hopefully talk to some students directly, & eye-ball/explore housing opportunities. I am not waiting until September & just trusting that it'll all work out. I need to be proactive & know what I'm getting into ahead of time.

Can you share any of the apartment complex names? I'm traveling to Anguilla in a few weeks & will begin eye-balling apartments then.

Oh that's awesome that you will be visiting Anguilla in 3 weeks! As for the apartment complexes, I've been browsing the housing website provided through the SJSM Anguilla website. From what I've read from previous discussion posts, on here, from the students, who are now upper classmen, Stacey Porter is the real estate agent we should contact.

Another concern of mine is transportation when I first arrive to Anguilla; from the hotel to finding housing. As of now, I do not think I will have a car. Does anyone have an idea about shuttles or cabs?

Thanks for the housing link; Will definitely share thoughts after trip in May. I'm told by others that cabs are very expensive and that it would be best for me to have a car. Allegedly, students buy used vehicles and then sell them prior to leaving island, as buyers are prevalent.

I agree with you guys. Its hard to just sit around. For those traveling to Anguilla, it would be great if you all could share some information about the island. Almost 4 months left!
