Go read something about NVAO and accreditation before posting anything else. No one cares that you say that surely the school will be closed by the weeks end, because it won't be. I see you're spurting this same, "sky is falling, run for the hills," nonsense on other forums as well.

I meant I know I may be taking their word for it but honestly what else can you do? We are at the mery of what heppens but I have talked to as many folks as I can and I honestly can't find anything that says that the school is moving.. I have read they are expanding but not moving the Bonaire campus. Can anyone clarify where hey heard this and how they know it is a fact? Thanks.

This is all discussed in greater detail--with explanations of how NVAO doesn't have any authority to accredit, or whatever--on the Sint Eustatius forums, just go look there.
Also, the Dutch came last December, and will be coming again this Dec., and probably the Dec. after that. The school is CAAM (CARICOM) accredited, fyi. caam-hp. org/assessed_schools. html#listing (remove spaces) (BTW, that's is also one of the many forums caribdocky visits and says the school is closing any day now) Last edited by requiredfield; 07-05-2009 at 11:40 PM. |

Thats another lie. You would have to read it carefully and dont spread misleading information.
The SJSM bonaire is NOT ACCREDITED BY CARICOM. They applied for accreditation for Anguilla, where the campus doesnt even exist. As you can see below, in order to receive the accreditation SJSM must meet the following requirements. On top of that the initial visit was done in February 2007 followed by another visits every 6 months so after 2 and a half year the campus in Anquila is still not meeting the standards. Application for initial provisional accreditation was received from the St. James School of Medicine (SJSOM) for the establishment of an offshore medical school on the island of Anguilla. In February 2007, a review was done by the following persons: Sir Graeme Catto Professor E. R. Walrond Decision The CAAM-HP after examination of the reports agreed that provisional accreditation be granted on the following conditions: That the school in its promotional material, state clearly, that it is provisionally accredited. That the conditions for the requirements in the document, Accreditation Guidelines for New and Developing Schools, be followed. The CAAM-HP will wish to visit in six months time to monitor the progress the school is making towards setting up the facilities for the admission of the first class of students. Fact is at the end of the day I can't find anything to support any of these rumors. Where are the facts that support this move? Beyond that the school is accredited enough or whatever you want to call it so that students can sit for the USMLE.. So beyond that what does it matter really? And why does anyone who doesn't go to the school or plan on going to the school care?

Ok...let's clarify some stuff. To my understanding the school is NOT moving, but there is another campus that will be opening up on the island of ANGUILLA!
I know for a fact that preparations are being made, that is, classrooms are in its final stages of completion, and they are hoping to have its first class in the Fall. However, when i contacted the admissions office, I asked about the other campus on the island of Anguilla, they seemed perplexed and seem to have no idea of that campus, ...well at least to the person i spoke to. Also, if you visit the st. james website, there is a picture in its logo, at the top of the webpage, showing a picture of a harbour, which is found on the island of Anguilla. So why would they be advertising this, if there wasnt any truth to it? But once again, from the information gathered, the school is NOT moving, it's just opening another campus. Maybe somebody can get proper clarification or someone from the school can shed some light on this. Cause i am very much interested in going to the campus on the island of Anguilla. |
