to all those who are planning on attending st. james in may of 08....
make sure, you budget yourself for staying at a hotel for 2 weeks. the major mistake people to do around here is that they come to this island, a day before the classes begin, or even a day before orientation...and expect to find housing. this island is only 3 miles wide and 24 miles long....and majority of the housing is found in 2.5 mile or less radius of the school itself. so the SMART and MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH MUCH less stressful way of transitioning from our humble abodes to this island....is to allow urself to get acclatimized to the island...and spend at most 2 weeks in a hotel. students are very helpful here, the SGA is trying to put a list together to provide housing, however, do not rely on this only. i am currently an MD1 at this school, i love it here, came from chicago, and im telling you....budget for 2 weeks at a hotel....there are three of them....only two which students should go to....(Lizard Inn, and Rochaline Hotel). Lizard Inn has a website, not sure about Rochaline. Rochaline is 54 dollars a day....i no lizard inn is ALOT cheaper...both hotels are 5 minute wakling distance from the school. hope to see all of u in may. dont be afraid...EVERYONE finds housing. everyone....trust me

Does anyone recommend a good study guide for anatomy, I kind of had a hard time with anatomy in paramedic school.

For Anatomy, the best book is the Netters Clinically oriented Anatomy, but it' s too much for a review, so you may want to read the BRS Anatomy or look through the Netters Atlas to kinda get farmiliar with the structures. Nerves, circuatory, muscles are big here.

Good luck

Where are you from dochotrod?

I've found that having some exposure to A&P prior is helpful. Kind of makes the class an in depth review of itself.
