Ummm,
I wouldn't worry too much about quarentine, unless your dog has a disease which is comunicable to humans. If he/she is in good health and looks healthy she will be examined at the customs station and released to travel with you within a few minutes. This is what I was told by customs border patrol, but still you may want to double check because you never know. |

Thanks for that information. Did you bring your cat from the US to Bonaire? I'm a little concerned because my dog was a little to big to go in the cabin with me, so she will fly cargo.....uuuuggghhh! I wonder if that means she comes out with the luggage when I arrive on Bonaire? Or do they hold her somewhere? I'm not even quite sure who to ask about this. Any ideas or input would be great. Thanks

I adopted my cat here on Bonaire.
About your dog traveling in cargo, what airline are you flying? If its American, then make sure they know in advance because the planes from San Juan to Bonaire are not that big, so they may need to set some room aside for your dog. Once you land in Bonaire, you will take your dog on the tarmack, then go through customs and then to bagaage claim. |

I'll be on Continental, non-stop from Newark, NJ. American Airlines, with stops in Miami and PR, seemed to hot to travel with a dog in May. Thanks for the info on how I retrieve her from the plane. I feel a little more at ease about this now.
