Hhhhmmm...."truthful picture"? I'm just not sure what that's supposed to mean . Odd thread for a question like this.....if you have concerns about the island or school it is probably best to visit and make sure it is the right place for you personally. There is a lot of information on this site from students currently in basic sciences and clinicals. A thorough search of the site would probably be a good way of getting a wide range of opinions and "truth". Good Luck.

Hi,
I've not discovered any restrictions. She will have a health certificate, certified by a federal veterinarian. Her rabies vaccination dates and serial #'s of the vaccine is included on the health certificate. She is microchipped. Hopefully, I have everything covered. My vet had the health certificate forms, and was quite familiar with the process. The heat restrictions on American Airlines was an issue during May. I didn't want her stuck on a run-way in a kennel for several hours, or risk her health in the heat. So, I'm doing the non-stop on Continental.

I have spoken to the vets here and the customs in the US, (I'm taking my cat back) your dog will need rabies vaccine and will need to be in good health. Upon arrival in the states, your dog will be checked by a customs officer, if they think the dog is sick or has a disease, then they will have a vet check. Otherwise,m you should have no problems. if you are bringing your pet here, bring supplies (meds, flea/tick/lice control) etc... you will only find food, toys, general pet stuff here. There are a couple of vets, but the meds are a little expensive. I paid 50 bucks for frontline spray for the cat!

So I hope this helps.

Hi,
I am not really sure of what you are asking or what your intentions are, but if you want the views of the students and some pretty recent pics taken by the students then go here:
ST. JAMES SCHOOL OF MEDICINE :: Index

I don't know what you want to know about life on Bonaire, or the pics, please be a little more specific.
If you have questions, ask. I will answer to the best that I can.

Hope to speak with you soon

I don't think quarintine will be required when returning to the states. But, I better confirm that with my vet.....uh oh, one more thing added to my 3 page list. Thanks for the reminder.

Yeah, I have more meds for her than for me. My vet warned me about the flea issue. So I spent more than $300 on frontline and heart worm meds. But, that's for the whole 16 months. I had a feeling pet meds would be expensive on the island. Thanks for all the information. Life is getting wild for these next two weeks...so many details .
