January 2007

Hi everyone,

I got accepted for January 2007 at St. James. I'm 27/Male/Chicago. I'd like to say hi to anyone who has been accepted there or is already there. I just wanted to get and share some thoughts on the medical school, the Caribbean, or just to say hello. Drop me an email at sosavvy525@yahoo.com and tell me about yourself. Look forward to hearing from you.

Savi

Talking

HI!

I too am going to be attending St James in Jan 07. I was at St Chris, biggest mistake of my life, for one semester. I will be starting over at St James. I am hoping the experience in this school is going to be grrreat. I am a little scared living in the Caribbeans though. So I guess I will see you there and I hope to hear from other future students. Take care!!!

Maybe St. James

I have been accepted to St James as well, but I am still debate over if I should go there or not. I need to choose from St. James, St. Matthew's, AUA. Not sure which one I'll go to. Let me know if you guys have a view on which one is better.

Without looking at tuition and cost of living, I would say St. Matthews is the best out of those 3, followed by AUA, and then St. James.

But looking at the cost of living and tuition I'd say SJSM Well...it's one of the major reasons I chose St.James over those and SABA. But I'm older. So, how much I wind up owing does matter.

Hey guys, another MD1 student here. I've been here on this island for a while now, so hopefully I will be able to answer some of the questions that you might have about the island etc.

Feel free to post a message or pm me, I can't claim that I know everything but I will try and help you guys out the best I can.

Ian

Acceptance response?

Hey guys!
How long did you await for the response from SJSM after your interview? Mine was last Monday, and went quite well, IMHO. I do not antcipate any major obstacles to being accepted. I just want to hear it from the horses mouth. Gotta get my immigration, air travel, loans lined up.
Anyway, hope to see all of you who are comming down there in January.
I'm from Brooklyn, NY, 36 y.o male, married, with one kid (She turned eight today...H.B to you ...M ).It's rough, but family will stay back home, at least for now.

I was told to wait 10 days after the interview was taken (excluding weekends). I heard exactly 10 days later. You can check the status of your application on St James' site. Go to My Application and enter your info. That is how I found out. If 10 days go by, call the office. I hope this helps. See you all in January.
