I call it like I see it. I am not paid by ValueMD or any school. Nor do I recruit for any school.
510 points I am accepted, but have some choices to make between all the schools. The interviewer I had was a lady, very intelligent and very sweet. I enjoyed chatting with her. If you had the same lady and expressed your reason for medicine, etc and explained your goals then you are okay. I actually just recieved my acceptance letter in the mail today and I interviewed a looong time ago, I think over ~a month ago. Main thing they want are quiet, hardworking people. As long as you express how hard you plan on hitting the classes and assuring you will pass everything without hitches your cool. Having a ~2.5 or so and a 20+ MCAT seems the range most schools will accept a student at.
Hi Ut,
Sounds like we are hitting on several school forums/sites - sound like we had the same interviewer for St James. She was really swift - the staff had made a mistake and had someone else transcripts in with mine plus they lost one of mine. (Went to three schools). She found the issue and it did not set her back a step - kept on going. I have a 3.55 in last masters degree, and scored ok on the MCAT after not having had a biology since 1975. My science gps for 100+ hours of chem, bio and tons of math was 3 something. (don't hold me to that - it is late at night).
She asked for my MCAT since I had done it. While I am not sure I am in there - it is my one of my top choices due to liking the island of Bonaire. (Has to do with diving, Dutch women, marine life, chocolate and beer not always in that order). Forget the cuban cigars... they cost too much. Have been there twice on dive trips. Like the place, yea it is dusty, the goats are a real pain - they only have three type of beer, and there are issues about food and supplies but the diving is rightious. Well it is late at night just my .02s.

510 points is st James flooded with apps for this fall? are they actually rejecting students?
Hi Blocks81 - My mistake - I made an incorrect assumption. Only admissions can tell you that. I am removing that from my post.

THANKS...

510 points I applied and got accepted...I don't think they are literally "flooded" but I am guessing they have a few more applications then they will allow to enter. I think they have classes of around 30 people and sometime even smaller, like 20-25 people. Also, make note they have alot of fees, the tuition is cheap, but with all the fees, entrance, etc etc it adds up. But seems like a good school for someone who really needs help to make it through. Small, close gathered schools are good for those types of people. I think if they have 30 people apply they will likely accept 25+ of them. But once they get some approvals for say NY clinicals etc their stock will go up.
510 points Well tuition is like this 4200 each semster of basic, but there is a 2,000 admin fee you pay once for imigration and such, but this covers everything including SGA, the SGA here recieves a budgeted amount for activities here. So tuition is 14,600 a year for 3 semesters, so yea thats really low. Oh and if you go to the school web site it's there in black and white.
510 points why tution is that low? anatomy lab? how are professor?
