Sorry guys I am posting the same topic in two different threads. I posted this on the FALL 06 thread.
My questions is bout residency and matches. So i know the SJSM posted their 2006 match list. What concerned me was that 7 students only applied for match and 6 got in. First question is why only 7, I thought that there were atleast 20 studnets per class, and what happened to them? Also, what bout the previous classes, any idea from them? Also what happened to the 7th student who applied for match in 06? |

transferred out to other schools which made tha classes a whole lot smaller. (Yes the 7th ggot a residency they just didn't report back to the school I heard). Then KEY Bank stopped lending to all the Foriegn schools too, the school like others, had no loan for a couple of semesters but have a Sallie Mae loan now. Also the classes above me are smaller, MD2 (my class) 22, MD3 35, MD4 16? I think. Class size varies and so does who finishes, once students go to clinicals the students on Bonaire lose touch with them and we do not know if they took extra time off or not or transferred. ![]() |

NY residency
Quote:
I guess it's better late than never A quick google search yields a lot of useless info, but...there is someone doing FP in Stonybrook, LI (NY). Here it goes: http://www.hsc.stonybrook.edu/som/fa..._residents.cfm Well, you live and learn. I was under impression that no residency form unapproved NY school could be obtained. But I guess it has to do with no more than 12 weeks o rotations in NY. |

how is he doing residency in ny? i just called the state board and they said specifically that it doesn't have to do with the amount of rotations..and that no matter what, you cannot do residency in ny if your school is not approved!!!
can someone shed some light.. thanks |
