Thread: MD5 + AICM/study time for step 1.. Confused?

Hello everyone

I just had my interview with SJSM to hopefully start in May 2013... I just had a question about what happens when you come back to chicago (MD5) and the "free-time" we have to study for USMLE step 1.

So, we finish MD4 on the island, come to chicago for MD5/AICM and do the training program & study for step 1? You study for the exam, write it and then depending on whether you pass or fail you start clinical rotations? What's the PASS program and when does that take place?

I'm so confused. You're help would be greatly appreciated!!!

Sounds like you are a very eager young doctor! Young doctor, please do not worry about anything but MD1. It is more than enough. Also, if you have questions about the school, call the school. Would you like the Chicago office number?
