delta loan opens june18th, max at $4500/sem has a gpa maintenance requirement and has a lot of small print, example if you transfer payback begins immediately. so read carefully and use all other avenues prior to deciding. citi, chase wells fargo and discover all offer med school private loans but you need a cosigner and awesome credit. good luck, I'm putting in my chase loan this week as well so we will see.

Has anyone successfully received a loan from Chase for SJSM as a student loan? They have a loan titled "Medical School Loans & Health Professions Student Loans." I'm asking because when I spoke to someone at SJSM today they told me that the only thing they know of that works is Delta.

I also found something at PNC and Citibank but I have not submitted an application yet. If anyone has successfully done any of these other loans, please let me know. I'm hoping to get my applications in for loans this week but don't want to fill out applications if they will not work for SJSM.

I went to wells fargo and had no luck, they do not give educational loans for SJSM, and you cannot get a private loan for education. my adviser told me many of the students have "family support" meaning they pay out of pocket. And the only way to get the private loan is to say it is for something else ie: a house project or something but the thing with private loans is you have to start paying them back right away... so Im still lost and considering deferment as we only have about two months and I wont be able to afford it.
